Kudos to Michael B Jordan and Invesco on hosting an awesome HBCU College Fair and Basketball Classic on February 3, 2024. It was an awesome way to kickoff African-American History Month at the Prudential Center. Jackson State vs. Grambling and Howard University vs. Hampton. The Bands were awesome. Fraternities, Sororities, HBCU students and Alumni were in attendance along with high schools, college students and community based organizations. For the High School Academic Support Program of Essex County, It was a great opportunity to meet and greet college bound students and their parents said Director, Lyndon Brown who was on hand to distribute FAFSA information, college scholarship applications and flyers for upcoming events: Law Enforcement/Criminal Justice Fair, Summer Program Fairs for teens, FAFSA workshops and Campus Tours and college fairs. We also thank the members of the Basketball Teams, Bands and colleges who visited our area high schools on February 1st and 2nd to speak to high school students who were elated by the visits and insight they received and our high school athletes enjoyed the basketball tips. The college recruiters came from across the country and many held instant decision admissions sessions.
